We go up Twice a yr for a family & friends reunion, Onced in April and then in October. I love this Montel.The owners are the sweetest people you could meet.They make sure the rooms are very clean, if you need extra towels or anything else they are very happy to help.Each room it's own coffee pot with fresh coffee and if you ask they will put you in one with a fridge.They are located where most of the local events are going on.Just right up the road is the Country Store that sell most any produce you may want, the fresh Mt cabbage, apples, tomatoes, squash,etc ; The Reastuants are right up from the Montel.They serve home cooked meals, Breakfast, lunch, and Dinner all made with fresh produce from local farmers.The Famous Mayberry Mills is just up the road where you can spend the day walking the trails ( handicapped equipped) and viset each exhibit set up and listen to the stories of how each played a role in history.If you love the parkway views, there are many places to pull over for breathtaking views of the Mts , whatever season it maybe you, ll always get a spectacular view , and don't forget for those of you with a sweet tooth, the candy factory is right there near the Montel, you can viset and sample each peace of candy
Reasonable price , clean , kept up and. OWNED and OPERATED by AMERICANS! !!!!!!!! Restaurant has closed but motel is running, in an era inundated by motels run by foreigners that turn American businesses into bed bug ridden dumps . This is a clean place to enjoy
